The fees at Wise Mind Psychology follow the guidelines for the fees for psychological services which were set by the Ontario Psychological Association. While the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover psychological services, most private insurance companies cover services by a registered psychologist. Any fees that are not covered by insurance can be claimed as a medical expense on your annual income tax return.

Clients can choose to pay for their services using cash, cheque, or Electronic Money Transfer (EMT). We require 24 hours notice for cancellation of an appointment, in order to avoid paying for the missed session.

Please note that we are a registered provider with Medavie Blue Cross.

Referrals from physicians, lawyers, third parties (e.g., Veterans Affairs, WSIB, etc) and other professionals are welcome, though referral is not needed to initiate psychological services. Individuals are welcome to contact Wise Mind Psychology directly to access services.

These will be reviewed with you at the beginning of the first visit, and will make getting started that much more efficient.

The goal of the first appointment(s) is for the psychologist to understand your current concern(s), review our clinic’s policies, and determine whether the services at Wise Mind Psychology will be a good fit for your needs. It is an opportunity to discuss relevant history, current difficulties, and will inform an accurate diagnosis. An accurate diagnosis is often a key for an effective evidence-based treatment process. The information collected in the first 1-2 sessions will help your psychologist understand your unique goals and needs, and set the stage for you to have a successful, helpful, and impactful experience.
